Yesterday i was getting ready to come back too South Africa from England(im back now). So i pulled out the battery on my blackberry 9710 and took out my british sim card and replaced it with my South African one. When my phone rebooted i got this notification : "Media Card can not be accessed due to fatal errors". And suddenly all my music and photos were gone!! and now my phone or my PC cannot detect the micro SD card at all!
I took the following steps which did not work because as i said, my PC cannot even see that there is a SD card detected
"If your PC does not detect the SD card, the problem may be related to the driver. You can try to update it"
•Open the "Computer" and select the "System Properties" tab.
•In the task bar on the left click "device manager"
•Next to " USB controller "click the" + "next door and you should see a yellow exclamation mark.
•All you need to right click and choose "update driver software" then "automatically search for driver software online "......
•Wait for the driver to be installed and reboot your computer."
Please can someone help me, just so i can atleast recover what was on my memory card!!
Sorry to disturb!
What device you have? Your profile says 7810, and your post 9710. Neither of those device numbers exist.
Your media card sounds as though it has been corrupted. It happens. Hopefully you have a backup of your files on your computer.
9810 my bad :P
If you re-insert the memory card in your BlackBerry you will *sometimes* get the option to "repair" errors without reformatting. That's what you want. If not, the memory card might have died.
Sometimes a Mac computer will read things a Windows pc will not. If you cannot get your BlackBerry to repair the errors you might be able to use a Mac to recover content from the memory card.
