Like Bell for third party apps on Telus you'll need to subscribe to BES, if you do allot of IM make sure you have an unlimited data plan

I've had no problems using third party software on my TELUS 7250. I've tried about three different IM clients as well...

Sounds promising! Are you connected to BES?

No.. I'm using BWC (or BIS or whatever they're calling it nowadays).

just activated before Christmas and I've had a really good experience so far. I haven't tried to do anything wacky (like 4.1), but everything has worked like a charm thus far.

How does this BWC/BIS work? can I use it on a indivdual basis or does it have to be a corporate server.?

No, it's hosted for you.. basically you go to a URL (don't know it off the top of my head.. you can get there from the TELUS site), enter your PIN, and create your account. Then, you give it information for your email accounts and it pulls email from those accounts and pushes them off to your handheld.

Simple as that.
