My sons Blackberry rings but there is no voice output (I can not hear him
when he is speaking). He also can not play music that he transfered to the SDcard on the phone.

Does this sound familiar to anyone.

If he added any Apps that were not for the specific model you can try deleting them. If he dropped it or got it wet the unit could be damaged and either repair is needed or replacement.

Please try to update the new rom and see how it works, one of my co-worker's phone was fixed by this.

This is the last thing one should try.
