Torch 9800 on enterprise, I can't setup 'internet mail account'
 
I have a 9800 on a company enterprise server. On the weekend I changed my password like we need to do every 90 days (is there a way to change that?), then later I couldn't remember what I changed it to (yes I'm an idiot I guess).

Tried 10 times, it locked me out and when it started up again it only worked as a phone, I could still send/receive calls. I plugged it into my pc, did a restore and called our company help line, they gave me a new enterprise password and I got that working again. My profile is "power user" so I am (was) able to add my personal email accounts, but when I go to setup, emails accounts the only email accounts I have the option to setup is the enterprise one.

I called the phone provider, the tech guy was able to see my other email accounts, I gave him my PW's for them and he was able to reset them, so now I have access to them again but still when I go to setup / email all I see is the enterprise account, I am not able to add or deletr sny accounts or change PW's etc.

What is stopping me from being able to setup the 'internet email' accounts on the BB when it's obviously setup for them? When I try setting up the account online with the provider (TELUS in Canada) it tells me I must do it using the phone's "internet email" option which of course I can't do.

You need to wait more than 2.5 hours before bumping your own thread.

Have you pulled the battery since you re-activated?

I wasn't bumping, just asking a question and yes I've rebooted it several times. I think there's some kinda glitch with the phone stopping the 'internet mails account' option, bit of a weird one I guess.
The guy told my a software update would probly fix it but it's up to date. Is there any way to run the same again?

No, you bumped, but that's neither here nor there as the point remains.

Have you tried going into the host routing table and re-registering? Have you logged into your provider's BIS site to unregister and reregister your device?

This thread was only about 3 down when I asked the question, so it wasn't a bump, I was just hoping for a solution before turning in last night.



That's what I'm saying, when I go to the TELUS website it tells me to do it using the 'internet mail' option which doesn't show.

Here's what it gives me, I imagine you're familiar with it:
"Cannot create account:
This action cannot be performed using a browser on a computer.
Use the email setup application on your BlackBerry smarthphone
to create an account"


I've re-registered from the routing tabes, yes.

I noticed when I go to options / device / app management, I DO have "email setup application version 6.11.02.216.1323" installed but it's not showing up, is thee any way to re-install this app?

It sounds like it may be worthwhile to try a device wipe and reload using JL_Cmder.

So I'd do a backup first? (Can't link to the site, don't have enough posts)

I guess I'd need to get my enterprise password reset again but that's pretty simple.

Search the forums for jl_cmder.

Back up the device before you do anything.

I did that, every thread is mega pages long, I'll look for a step by step guide.
Never done this before, I'm thinkin I'd rather re-format and do a fresh windows install than try this, maybe I'll just put in for a Z10! ;)

That's not a bad idea either, particularly if you live in an area where Telus has LTE.

wipe device, add in personal account activate on BES after

if personal is removed after activation, then you have a policy preventing it

Okay, successfully wiped it and reloaded, when I go to setup emails, I still only have 1 choice, Enterprise Account. :x
