I recently replaced my broken 6230 with an identicle model. I put the sim chip in the new device and my cell phone worked right away. However, I cannot get email. My company has an exchange server that redirects mail and I think I've followed the steps to get it working, to no avail. When I tried to send an email I got the following error message status: Transaction error - general failure. Any ideas?

I assume you are using BES...you may need to be re-added with the new PIN to the BES server. I think the PIN is with the phone and not the SIM. I am not for certain on this.

If you are on redirector or BIS you may need to send service books again to the new phone (may need to do that on BES too but I don't claim to understand that side of the house).

I am making the assumption that you have all your signal. I also find it interesting that you stuck with the oldie and not updating to a new device.

Thanks. I'll check with our admin about the BES settings. I got another 6230 because I'm counting down the days until my time with tmobile ends (April) and I didn't want to spend a lot on a temporary solution.
