Default BES servicing multiple Exchange Servers

Please Login to Remove!

Good day all:

We have two Windows 2000 Servers, one with Exchange 2003 and the other with BES 4.0, in the same active directory. We managed to get the blackberry service working with very few problems.

We have also configured that same Exchange 2003 server to host another Internet domain, and configured one user to use this new domain. This user can also send/receive messages through the BES with his handheld.

My question now is, I want to know if it's possible to somehow configure the BES to handle mail for another Exchange Server 2003, which sits in a different active directory. I have heard the requirement that states the BES and Exchange have to be in the same AD, however there must be some workaround for this.

The reason is, we want to sell this BES service to our clients, however some of them might not be able to purchase the BES on their own, so we would like to "host" their Exchange on our BES, which would probably be in different Active Directories.

Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

Licho.
