No, you will have to email pictures to your blackberry email account (as an attachment) then save the attachment.

WHat i do not understand is Why people keep looking for the BB to become a replacement of a laptop. It isnt, it will never be, period end of story. Loading pictures from camera to BB, why? Are they not safe on the Camera? DO you simply want to store them there, realize you dont have that much storage area to begin with. Do you want to email them to someone else, you cant email attachments. At best you might be able to send a picture via BBmessenger to someone. I am not picking on anyone in particular, all I am trying to say is take the BB for what it is, An e-mail device that can do phone functions. Accept that and move on. You need laptop features, fine I understand that, get a laptop or something smaller and lighter like a notebook. You need a camera, hey get a camera. But you cant make it what it is not and what it was not designed for. I know and have heard all the issues, maybe a separate blackberry line, etc. Fine to all that, but this is what a BB is and will be, accept it and dont try so hard to make it do what it cant, it wont, or was not designed to handle.

maybe they want to see it on a bigger screen? when the BB can obviously handle it and is capable, whats the problem? people aren't complaining more asking if it's possible. I use the BB as an ebook reader, read class notes on the bus, and as a phone. im not even using hte email feature and i couldn't be happier so what's the problem?

Now that is just plain ole misuse of a perfectly good email device... now that being said, it is cheaper than most other PDA/phones that I know of out there.

yup got it very cheap and does what i want. and email is there if i ever need it.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this matter. I am in complete love with my bb and wouldn't change a hair on it. I have a customer that is out in the field everyday and would benefit from being able to hook the bb up to a digital camera. I'm not saying we wish there were on a camera on it (understand why there isn't) just saying it would help out his job in particular if he could take a pic with the camera and hook it up to the bb so he could email the pic back to the home office.
I know the options of going around this, it would just be helpful if this were possible.

I have one set of users in my organization that use/abuse the BB and want it to do everything - including the ability to "fly".

I have another set of users that come in and ask where are the sites that they can go to for downloading GAMES...this people I love...

I have yet another set of users that barely turn the damn thing on and when they do it locks up, because they have so many incoming emails...

Sometimes ya just cant win...

Call me crazy but it appeared to me that the OP was just asking about the functions of his device. Being new to the Bberrry scene I too wondered what my 8700 could do.

I thought this was a forum site for people to ask questions without having to wait on hold for 30 minutes to get a simple question answered. If the guy had posted a whining complaint about his BB not being able edit video files I could understand the frustration but geez, it seemed the thread was complete after the 2nd or third post.

Be patient with us "little people" who see the BB as the obelisque in "2001". We're just trying to understand.

Some of us like to have like a sorta of a digital wallet.. you know show people pictures of your family.. or whatever.. I don't see the harm in trying to explore all what a blackberry can do.. if no one did.. it still wouldn't have instant messaging available.

You can do the "digital wallet" type thing by emailing as someone stated above... BUT the size limitation will prevent you from getting too nice or too many pics on the device. I agree that it's nice to whip it out and show some photos to people.

I am by no means a big supporter of digital cameras on BB's but the ability to get more multimedia with the device would be nice. They have really gotten better with this (RIM has) over the past few years. Just think, it's only been about 3 years since they only had monchrome looking devices. People used to ask me what I was thinking by carrying that "dinosaur" around and now those same folks carry 71xx series.
