Is there a way to add an overwrite button when opening a attachment with the same file name of a previous opened attachment? Currently we only get prompted for "rename" or "cancel".

If the attachment is still open then the OS thinks it needs to be renamed or canceled.
This is the 7100T attachment info from the manual.

your messages to view and add contacts to their
handheld address books. When you open a
message that contains an address book

the message with the name of the attached
contact.
You can view certain types of file attachments on
your handheld, including .zip, .htm, .html, .doc,
.dot, .ppt, .pdf, .wpd, .txt, and .xls files. You can
also view .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png, .tif image
attachments.
A message with a file attachment appears in the
messages list with a paperclip icon.
