I have a 7290 using TMO. Last week, I tried to install verichat and +IM but they don't work and I thought I would just use the instant messenger from TMO which counts IMs as SMSs. Today I installed the instant messenger from TMO. I tried it on AIM and it did log me out from my AIM on my desktop computer when it was connecting 20% done, then I thought all is fine but the thing is it keeps on staying at 20% for a long time. Is there something wrong with the device? How can I fix it so that I can at least use Instant Messenger on my bb?

You should be able to use verichat if you enter "wap.voicestream.com" as the APN.

go to the options and then look for the tls setting change it to handheld..........that will fix your problem

ok now after trying to erase and restore the programs using application loader and somehow got the TMO instant messenger work.
But still no luck for IM+ and Verichat. Do I need BES to have them work?
I also had the TCP setting on my bb already. I put wap.voicestream.com as my APN and so I dont think that is the reason why I cant use them.
Does anybody who is using TMO and BIS be able to use verichat or IM+?

Verichat does work with T-Mobile and BIS. I have a 7105t (T-Mobile) using verichat with wap.voicestream.com and an 8700c (Cingular). I do have to have BES for the 8700 because I got extra data charges with wap.cingular.

Did you reboot the phone?
