Default Mute and Software HELP!!! for 7520

Please Login to Remove!

All,

I am absolutely frustrated with this 7520. It seems that I have to Mute using the scroll wheel and that there is no other way. The issue is that when you are on a conference call, and want to mute the phone, you actually have to be looking at the screen. That becomes an issue if you are trying to multitask. Is there any other way - option to mute this phone?

Also...I have been desperately seeking a piece of software which will allow me to view the messages on the blackberry and delete them using a mouse and keyboard, like Palm Desktop works. That way I can connect to this handheld and cleanup the 500 items on it so that I don't lose any mail. Does something like that exist?

Thank you.

What a bummer. I thought for sure there would be some way to connect to the BB and view the messages etc. Also a true bummer about the mute button. Thats just crazy.

You can mute the phone using the OEM earpiece that comes with it.

One click > Mute
Click again > Unmute

Click and hold > Hang up

You can also use the Delete Prior function to delete a bunch of emails from your device and they won't be deleted from your server account.

Someone posted the answer in a different thread.

The PTT button on the top of the 7520 is the mute button, while in a call.

That is not true. I tried that while in a call and it does not mute the phone. Unless there is some option that I need to turn on.

With the 7510 you could hit the speaker button to mute/unmute... with the 7520 all I have seen work is the track wheel>mute. That is very annoying and especially with BT headsets...

If the PTT did work that would be great but doesn't work on mine. Makes sense though.. very easy to bump that button. It could serve some good functions (light on/off, mute/unmute, order Chinese, etc).
