Hi all
I'm thinking of switching from my Sidekick to a Blackberry. I am Deaf and only use the data functions - no phone. Can anyone recommend which model I should be looking at? on the Sidekick I was able to IM through AOL instant messaging and iChat. Will the 2-way messaging be good enough to replace that?

Please read through the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum. It will point you to several topics and postings by Mark Rehjon, one of which concerns BBs and the deaf. There is another sticky at the top of the RIM S/W or aftermarket S/W forums where I'm capabilities are discussed. And lastly www.blackberry.com has a compsrison feature on the products page where you c, compare the features of different BBs.

thanks for all the info and sorry about the lazy searching. I actually did look for stuff on the BB site and failed miserably - but I'll go back and try again. Thanks also for pointing me at the stickys here - I searched in what I thought were the FAQs but again failed miserably. Maybe I just need to learn to search.... better! thanks again for the help.
