I have a user who is having this problem with his BB. In the contacts screen when he begins to type the first letters of a name the view does not jump to that section of the alphabetical listings, it just stays at the current view. Has anyone seen this behavior before? It makes a long contact list virtually unusable.

Has the customer tried popping the battery out and then back in to do a reset? That could fix it.

Yes, and reseting with a paperclip, both to no avail. I also tried reorganizing the contacts by changing the Sort from Last Name to First, but that was another no go.

Set the keyboard to 'Sure Type' from the menu.
