Question Gprs

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am new to all this, I have just got a 7290 for work from Cingualr with unlimited data. Can I use this phone in Central America?

Will it cost me a fortune for emails I have a local sim for Panama Central America where i am based most of the time?

Do you pay for the GPRS connection when you are out of the US or is it part of the plan.

Thanks

I can only answer you based on my T-Mobile service. I thought T-Mobile was the only cell provider that offered true international capabilities without the need for a GSM phone...but I may be wrong.

I think we pay around .34 cents a min when I am in Germany for Phone calls to the US.

I dont know the charges for South America - but we have users that travel to Brazil and Portgugal and they usually have a hard time even getting reception but the costs are similar to Germany.

T-Mobile charges .05 cents per meg of data when you are International.

I hope this helps.

i'm on tmobile and when I have taken it with me to Panama (soy antonero) my service has worked just fine (voice and data) - voice rates were through the roof, but the international data rates weren't very bad at all...then again im only there for a week at a time...
