Long story short, I had to wipe my 7290 and start over.
A new corporate policy is that we cannot install the BlackBerry Desktop Software (not sure how they’ve done it, but my PC won’t let me install it [our I.T. goons must have had help from another company’s much smarter I.T. department]).
Anyhow, getting my data synced is no problem, as Enterprise Activation worked like a charm.
That being said, one thing that I was able to change with the Desktop Software (in the past) was the name for my BES account. The default is “Desktop”, but I had changed it (using the Desktop Software) to “Company-Name”.
Now that I cannot install the Desktop Software, I cannot change the “name” from “Desktop” to “Company-Name”… and I see no way of making this change from the handheld itself.
