Default 7730 Not connecting via USB

Hi All

Sorry more help needed here

I got my 7730 from ebay and it is working well but I cannot get it to connect to my Laptop through USB.

When 1st connected it, it showed up as new hardware

but since then when I connect it I cannot see it in the device manager or in a USB Device scanner I have downloaded.

I have installed and reinstalled the Desktop software many times but it still does not work.

Can anyone help?

Did you go into Desktop Manager and change the connection method to USB?

Yes and I have also tried the detect option from there.

With the BlackBerry connected to your PC, open Windows Device Manager. Is your BlackBerry shown as a detected device (see attached picture)? Are there any devices with a yellow exclamation point next to them? Is so, you might need to reinstall the BlackBerry drivers again. The drivers are located by default at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers.

The Blackberry does not show up in the device manager and also not in a USB Scanner application I have downloaded.

Ive seen this several times on 77xx phones. Most of the time it will show as an unknown device and will refuse the drivers. The only way I've been able to fix it is to replace the phone. If you're on a BES 4 server then it doesn't matter as much since everything is wireless.

The USB device has just been removed from the system, all drivers unloaded.


It looks like the drivers have not installed correctly. How can I verify the driver install?
