I have a 7100 and about 15 other people that have it. We have a BES server and Blackberry Manager. All but 3 people are working correctly. 3 people who have the 7100...when they open something on the Blackberry and read it..it is staying unread on the Notes client. All of the other users are syncing nicely. Is this controlled by the Desktop mgr, the 7100 or the BES server?

Make sure that Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile is set to ON.

We have this problem once and a while here at work. it's related to the users State Database on the BES server. They will need to be recreated on the BES server and then re-sycronized with the desktop manager software.

The problem we have, which is similar, is that a user will not be able to reconcile or syncronize even though everything is set up ok.

ie. they file an email in their lotus notes, but it still shows up on their handheld even though "hide filed messages" is on.

On a side note, we did have one user that had this problem even after recreating their state database on the BES server. We eventually had to replace his handheld unit (7290) to fix the problem.

We called Blackberry support. Turns out Notes release 5 doesn't play well with syncing. There is a patch they directed us to and suggested we use this.

In my honest opinion, notes release 5 is a sack of crap. (its what we use too). And I'm not just talking in relation to Blackberry Syncing. I'm saying in general.

Yeah....we are shortly moving to 7. Notes 6 will stop being supported in July of next year..so might as well.

Before you implement this registry key, remember that you need to upgrade your BlackBerry Enterprise Server to version 4.0. service pack 3 hot fix 4.

On the registry, open HKLM\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Agents
Create a new Dword value named CheckMailTemplateVersionForOTAFM

Assigning the value 1 means that it will check for read/unread marks for users using pre-release R6 of Domino.
If you want to turn it off, set the value to 0.
