I have read tons of post concerning upgrades from other providers...but mostly foreign providers. I have a question which hasn't been addressed so far.

KPN in the Netherlands doesn't have any link to a new OS. (even older ones...they told me to go to BlackBerry.com). I need an update to get my BB to work with my Bluetooth carkit (Parrot CK3100).

What can I do to have my BlackBerry working with the KPN network but can get an update to the latest os for my 7290 BB?

Can I use the Cingular or will this delete or change my functionality...?

Any one who has a clue, please let me know...

He cauliflower, have a look at the sticky in the RIM Software forum on 4.x downloads/upgrades.

Basically the answer is yes you can, in fact you could use the Hong Kong CSL 4.1 OS for your 7290 to get the latest & greatest.
Make sure you read how to perform the upgrade w.r.t. deleting thw vendor.xml file as to make sure it will work on KPN.
