Question 7520 error "User not available" when trying to access VM

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone shed some light on why this error occurs when I try to access voice mail on the BB 7520

If you are holding the "1" key...and it's not working...
try calling your own number...or re-program the shortcut...

I have got the same problem -- and if you would pay attention to the number your phone really dials to, it's always changing: sometime with "##", sometime even in duplication ... weird

yeah, i've seen that. I didn't know what the problem was...
After a few tries it worked though.

This has been posted in other places in this forum. I can't for the life of me remember the fix but I almost want to say is self clears or a hard reset is required.

It is usually one of two things. Go to the phone icon and go into the options. Select the voicemail option and where it says access number, ensure your number is in this field. If it is there, exit back out to the list of phone options and select the call forwarding feature. Ensure the "Forward Unanswered Calls" option is selected. Below that you see the "if busy", if no answer, and if unreachable" options. If it says do not forward to the right of each of these, then you need to put in the voicemail access numbers in each field. Do this by scrolling to where it says " do not forward " and select the change number option. Select the voicemail access number for your carrier. Esc and save and you shoudl be done. For Nextel, the access number is your area code, prefix, and the word "mail" spelled out on a landline phone keypad (6245). Cingular has all kinds of different access numbers so it depends on your location.
