Default pop3s

I run pop3s for mail on my mail server. It uses port 995.

is there any way to get my 7100t to use this instead of the regular port 110?

I don't like everything travelling in cleartext. So the encrypted pop is a little better.

I assume you have tried to set up the account using the BlackBerry Web Client at http://www.t-mobile.com/bwc

yes I already have an account there.

It works fine for pop3. just not pop3s.

I searched here but found nothing about pop3s or port 995.

so my question is......

is there another way besides that bwc? they do not support pop3s with that web client.

at least not as far as I can tell.

I think you are out of luck. Can you forward the e-mail to your <user>@tom.blackberry.net?

i can.

I think the data to the blackberry over the wireless is encrypted.

really I wanted that blackberry web client to check my mail using pop3s. It doesn't

So I was wondering if there was another e-mail client for the blackberry that does use pop3s.

maybe in 4.0 of the web client it will allow it encrypted.

BWC supports SSL, contact T-Mobile to ensure its enabled on your account, they may have it restricted?

I found it.

but the only way I can find to get to that setup page is by typing the wrong password and then it allows me to go to the additional setup page.

strange.

where did you find it T-Roy.

I have all my email accounts set to "store and forward" to my Blackberry. I use T-Mobile, and didn't like the delay using the Web Client to poll my mail, so I just setup a forward for ALL my accounts (7 I think) and alll works great. Have been using this solution for over a year now!
