I am considering throwing away my iPaq and nextel phone for a BB 7520 on the Nextel system. I have all kinds of questions but one that I guess I do not understand is that blueberry service for $10 a month can be used instead of the $44.00 a month data fee that Nextel is going to charge me? Is that true and does that work well?
How cumbersome is it to have 2 providers for service on the same phone? I say that because I assume that Nextel still needs to provide me with cell and direct connect service.

Also would this service be location sensitive? For instance, I am in the Sacramento area of California and I am not sure if blueberry's servise is avaliable in this area.

Any light you can shine on this for me I would apprecaite.

No. You must have Nextel service and a BES provider. I'd recommend Mobile Web 4 U, myself.

Also - BB service is available almost anywhere. You should have no problems.

Yeah MyBlueberry or similar services only offer the BES part of the data package so you still need the $44 unlimited plan from Nextel. Some ppl swear by BES service but I get along fine without it. I just use the (included) BB Web Client and it works fine for what I need.

I just recently gave up my Palm and i710 for a Nextel BB. Its so worth it!!!!

I have a Nextel BB 7520 with a Nextel account. I have never needed a 3rd party account to get my BB 7520 to work. I can browse the web using WebViewer, chat using Verichat, telnet/ssh using Idokorro SSH Mobile and much more. I really don't think you need to have a 3rd party service to get any added functionality. Seems to me you're just wasting your money.
