Default newb with a at&t/cingular question

Please Login to Remove!

hi everyone
i have a blackberry 7210 that my wife picked up as a gift on ebay.
it's an at&t berry and i have cingular service. we've been getting a lot of conflicting ansers about activating it.
i just want to add it to my current cingular account to relace my current phone. if i have to i'll just add it as a third line.
customer service has told us its possible and even told us that e can unlock the device but they direct us to a customer service center and they always tell us the opposite. it looks like its a real pain to unlock these and i'm not going to pay bongo 100 bux when i can start a new account and get a new berry for 149
can anyone tell me what to do to get this thing working?
next stop is ebay :(

Ok from what I understand you call up cingular and ask them to add a blackberry data plan along with whatever phone plan you are having. Since cingular and att are one and the same you can ask them to unlock your phone (they shouldn't charge you anything). Then you should be good to go (ie. setup your BWC account).
