Default Why is the call not connecting ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

Sorry for the silly question...... (newbie here....tried looking for the answer first...)

I have a new Blackberry 7520, on the Bell Mobility network....

People have tried to call my new cellular number, and they get the automated "....hang-on while i connect you....".

The cell phone never rings.......

okay.... iknow there is two possible reasons, but not sure????

i have "RADIO is OFF" and "Wireless is OFF" when i look at my icons on the main menu.

(that is probally the reason)

My question is..........

I never turn either of them off???? why would they be off? I do power off the phone each night....but do i always have to "turn ON" the wireless and "RADIO" indicators each day ???????

hoepfully im making sence.........

Al

One possibility ... The radio will automatically turn off if your battery dips below a certain threshold. Once this happens you must manually turn the radio back on (after you've recharged the battery, of course).

(p.s. you mean 7250 right?)

oops...yes
7250

( i just got off with Bell Mobility tech support..... they said what you just said).....

so to confirm..............

If my battery runs LOW.....it will AUTOMATICALLY turn the WIRELESS OFF!.....whch means once the phone is re-charged, I have to MANUALLY turn the wireless portion back ON.

is there a way to have the phone ALWAYS have the wireless portion on even if the battery dies ????

thanks!!!!

Allen

No. It's a feature of the operating system that is designed to leave you with access to your calendar, contacts and other stored data for as long as possible. The radio is disabled once the battery drops too low for reliable phone or data usage. Once you hit this point you can usually keep running and access your stored data for quite some time.

The radio will remain disabled until you either 1) manually turn it on, or, 2) actively try to access the network (by placing a call, launching the browser, launching 3rd party apps that require a data connection ...) at which point you will be asked if you would like to turn the wireless service back on.
