Hi, first I read the faq. I have RTFM'd. I've searched too.

Anyway I have a 7520 on Nextel. I want to use it to connect to my company VPN (pptp server) and with my laptop. MobiShark does not work for me because you cannot dial a VPN through a proxy server. I know that Nextel may block ports; this is not an issue as I can have the VPN listen on another port.

I just loaded 4.1, but i might have lost some service book or something in the process, because it died the first time and I had to nuke the handheld and start from scratch.

I have the RIM serial port driver installed, I'm using the brand newest blackberry desktop 4.1. However I don't see a modem and terminalling to the virtual com ports does nothing, no response to AT commands.

My question is this- is there any way to do what i am trying to do? has ANYBODY successfully gotten tethered data (w/out shark) on a 7520? what about on the nextel 7100? has anybody successfully gotten non-shark tether data to work on that?
