Default No message services?

I purchased a used BB 7750 (I know I know) off of ebay, I currently have it turned on through my Verizon service. The phone was sent to me with no OS on it so I put the verizon version of 4.0 on it. Now when I try to send an email message from the phone it tells me that there are "No message services configured. You will only be able to save a draft." Where would I go to setup the phone so I can send emails. Mind you this phone is not used for my company at all, it is just a cellphone with ALOT of bells and whistles for me. So if anyone can help me on what I need to do/install I would apperciate it

Do you get a Blackberry Data Plan for it, or are you just using a voice plan?

You need a Blackberry Data Plan, then you can sign into your BIS account on the web and push the service books to your handheld.

OK..i just got off the phone with verizon and added an umlimited data plan to what I already have....no how would I go about setting up my messaging service...I looked around on here and cant really find what I think I am looking for

I bought the phone used from ebay...now when I go to the blackberry site (the verizon part) to sign up for my account it tells me that that esn and pin are already registered to somone else....I take it I have to call verizon and get them to sign me up?.....I just hope that I can get it done and not have a cellphone with a lot of bells and whistles...

If it was on a company BES it may have to be released from their accounts as well, I would call or message who you bought it from and make sure that they go through the motions to get it released at their end.
