Unhappy wierdo! cannot usb wipe!

Please Login to Remove!

OK. I am completely at a loss.

I have been trying to wipe my handheld, ever since my bb 7100t died on me.
error 400, 425, 500, etc. etc.

so i figured wipe the handheld and start fresh.

My laptop picks up the bb as a usb device then it drops, and tries again, over and over.

to me it seems as a hardware issue. any ideas?

What I would do is download the latest Desktop manager, Unistall the current one, reboot, then install the new one and then try again.

I tried it out of curiosity, and still no dice. I also noticed the LED blinks red for about 3 seconds and off for 10 seconds.... ????

I also have a new 7105t that connects just fine.

Anything else I could try?

Errors 400-564 are page faults. The BlackBerry Technical KBase says to reload the OS. Which obviously, you are trying to do. I had the same problem with not being able to wipe my BlackBerry previously. I eventually got the OS reloaded and all was well. I think I fired up Desktop Manager. It saw the BlackBerry as disconnected. I started Application Loader anyway and was able to load the OS. Give it a try, hope it helps.

Also, if you are using a desktop computer...make sure you use one of the USB ports on the back of the machine! I've had problems using the ones on the front (Dell). They are not powered the same.

Good luck!

Red face

No luck again on my laptop. I'm going to try off of my desktop when I get into the office.

A couple of things I noticed also. When using desktop manager, it detected the usb port then droped it, same as before. It even gave me the PIN the first time, then it listed it as USB:Unknown PIN, so I continued. I was able to get to the application selection page of the wizard, and select next>. Unfortunately it hangs at Load JVM and system software.

When I unplug it from the USB port the wizard stops and gives me this error:

Device communications error encountered. [A:0x0000000E]

Looks like BB's version of the Blue Screen of Death! LOL

Thanks for the info, keep it comming, I'll try it all! I am determined to get this BB back and running!

I had similar problems recently - switching to the USB ports in the back of the PC worked for me! Thank you!!
