I haven't been keeping up with Blackberry news (other than the lawsuit) the last year, but what did RIM ever come out with regarding this. It's been a year since this press release...

There are a lot of variations to the AIM. including Ramble, Verichat and others. Maybe RIM and AOL didnt feel the need.
