OK i still dont know what BIS is and what BES exactly does but whatever I dont care anymore...

I have blackberry redirector on my computer at work...It redirects all email comming into it..to my Blackberry...and when I send an email..it sends it through my PC's email...what is this process called?

Not trying to be sarcastic, but it's called redirecting. Hence the name Redirector.

BIS is Blackberry Internet Server
BES is Blackberry Enterprise Server

Basically, the main difference is cellular carriers offer the BIS for their BB clients and companies/corporations offer the BES. The BES can provide a more restrictive environment for IT departments and their users. Also, the BES can provide wireless sync for tasks/calendar apps on the BB.

The Desktop Redirector is called just that. It provides a user (with MS Exchange server) to manage the email in a user's outlook mailbox.

Ahh I get it now....so im using my BIS to recieve my email from my redirector.
