I know for me--- first of all, my score is 7555.
second-- i love hitting all the bricks in level 1 with only one paddle move.
third- my 7100t always chokes and slows down when playing.
howcome the screenshot of the above score's GUI looks so different than the graphics on my 7100t? I have 4.0...

Have some trust...you think I would go through this effort to lie Last night I finally took a picture because my hands were shaking...I think I have developed arthritis in my thumb. I really was scared because I was down to one life again (Not a good feeling) and almost at 200,000. My wife thinks I have a problem!

Wow, that's a good score.
That's possible on BlackBerryOS 4.0 and later, but not on OS 3.7 I would bet!

wow. now that's a HIGH SCORE!
If you are running 4.1 device software, you can now post your highscores for BrickBreaker on the BrickBreaker highscore server.
I think 222,000+ is a record!

I'M CALLING BS ON "sabby"'s hight score. Here's why: in his picture, it's showing the level of the metal "U", and he's showing 2 balls next to the U and also three "ammo" gun shots. The paddle is not in "gun" form, and it is impossible to have ammo with no "gun." Also, everyone knows that the metal u only has one "easter egg" brick, so he can't have "multi" and "gun" together on that level. I know I'm an amateur, with only 21,830 points, but i know a SCAM when i see one! BUSTED!!!

High score 25120 -
11-18-2005, 06:45 PM
Hit 25120 today! Woo-hoo! I found the last 5-10 levels pretty easy. Maybe I just got good eggs. On the second time through (past level 34), the bricks descend after the first touch, and the ball goes a lot faster.

No Way! -
11-22-2005, 10:21 AM
Although that is some good editing...it won't show a score that high..It's cutting both sides of my score off at 6 digits..by the way I took a break because for the first time in my life I got sick of brick breaker, however, I have 317,125 with 22 lives. I'll get another pic soon.

Foolish knaves... -

My high score is 11475. For those of you who can't break 1000, I pity your poor, meaningless lives.
Understanding Screen 16 -- the so called "Terrible U" -- is an excersize in strategy, contemplation, and "one-ness" with your Blackberry. Many are called; few are choosen.

Here is a quandry for you all. Imagine that you are on a train. Suppose that you are in the middle of a killer game, having just vanquished the "Terrible U", when you discover that the train has just stopped at your station. You can either pause the game and get off the train at the appointed location and break your concentration, or you can continue to dominate BrickBreaker in real time -- with your hair on fire -- and end up somewhere if God knows where.
What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO!?!?!?!?!

Moral dilemma:
While out in the woods on a camping expedition, you encounter a Blackberry user, with whom you strike up a conversation. In speaking, you realize that his high score is higher -- way higher -- than yours. Knowing that there is nobody around for miles and hence nobody to hear him scream, do you i) just steal his device with the high score, leaving him to wander the dark night, or ii) steal the device and kill its owner, ensuring that the secret of how you came to possess the high score will go to the grave with him?

My high score is 7,690 and im a kid. my advice is when you see flip or catch dont care for it because they both stink and they dont do anything. my last advice is when you are on level 16 or 17 dont give up when your the medals are down where you are and you thik you cant do anything. i hit one brick and the medals were way down and i won the level without losing a life. also 13 is like really easy when it;s stuck in the L.

Brickbreaker High Score -
12-06-2005, 03:13 PM
See below for posted High score. The game quit on me and I still had 96 lives. Oh well! At about 1 million, the ball began stopping after several hits until it finally quit altogether.

Bullsh*t or no? -
12-07-2005, 11:50 AM
okay well, I've seen a peanut stand, and I've heard a rubber band, and even seen a needle that winked its eye, ...and I'm willing to believe a score of 200K. But I'd be done seen about EVERYTHING when I see a REAL score of over 1 million!!
I wish there was a way of knowing how truly fake these scores are. My hands have shook from the excited feeling of approaching, then breaking my high score. Staff's narrative was gripping and at least somewhat believable (at very least, it feels almost possible.) But as it takes me roughly 2 hours of constant playing to get a score of 30K, any score of 1 million would take 60+ hours of constantly playing to achieve. And while technically possible, I say, "bullsh*t."
Honestly, I'm impressed with all the people's scores (except the finks)! Its nice to know that I'm not the only one slightly obsessed with Bb.
peace,
Ace

Believe it or not I guy who used to work here got 7130 - I could never get a score above 6500...
And I prefer the 3.7 version to the updated one - you don't want the updated one...!

Wednesday night my boyfriend was showing my highscore of 82,220 to friends at dinner and accidently pushed New Game. I had 30 lives at that point and thought that it was going to be my never ending game. I kept it together because we were in public and he felt so bad.
I've been playing since then and had my second trauma tonight...I was so excited to break 100,000 and made it to 102,000+ At that point I paused it to warm up my hands, came back and pushed Resume. Instead it went back to level 1 and is still only showing 82,220. I absolutely know that I pushed Remuse and not New Game so I feel robbed and I don't understand why even if it would start a new game why it didn't update my score.
For months I was stuck at 30,400. I don't know if I can keep playing if I'm going to just get screwed like that.
My only strategy is to get as many lives as possible, and refrain from using the guns on some of the higher levels because it can just make it more difficult to get the right angle. Also, I've found that on the U-shape level the long or catch works best.

My best on the old version was 7825. Agree that it's addicting as hack. Just got the new version this week and haven't done so well there...only to level 14 so far.

I didn't even know the old version existed, so I play the new one. I played quite a bit last weekend at a Masonic Grand lodge meeting in Texas (they can get a bit boring) and I beat my old high score of around 10,000. My new high score is 15,280. I got to level 33/34.

this is very upsetting to a true brick breaker...I'm not sure how he edited the picture....but it was a darn good job. Myself, however...I am not the person to go through this type of trouble to lie about my score. I was once like many of you...maxed out at say 20-30k. BUT I beg of you to believe me. right now I am at 614,765 with 45 lives. Not sure how I am doing this, but I don't see an end to it. I know all the angles - I get by the dreaded U without dying once and I would love to challenge anybody to a brickbreaking duel. I am cuirous to see how this device handles a score of over 999,995 because right now it cuts off both sides. I have heard of scores of over 1million and now I know it's a possibility. It's all about having enough lives to get through the "difficult" times. Until next time..I think I am going to tape a little video of my playing this game so you guys know there is no funky editing going on.

I've had my Blackberry two months now and can honestly say I'm addicted to BB. After many failed attempts I've made it past level 16 (the big U) on a few occasions but only as far as level 22 or 23 with a high score of 12,290 - which is a score I'm finding hard to beat. Breaking 10,000 is quite a feat but a little luck is needed with some of the options you are given.
My strategy to date has been the following:
1 Restart if you don't get an extra Life on Level 1
2 Always pick up Lives when they are on offer
3 Only pick up Flip if you are close to completing a level, otherwise it's a hinderance
4 Pick up Laser when you can but use it sparingly - you only get 5 points for destroying a brick with Laser v 10 points for hitting it with the ball.
5 Use Gun to destroy the grey blocks
6 To get past level 16 you will need either Catch or Long - in 100+ attempts I've only got past that level once without one of those two. Catch is best but it takes a while to complete that level. You can also use the Gun to destroy the bottom three grey bricks but take care when it speeds up. If you don't get a favourable option, may the force be with you beacuse level 16 only gives you 1.
7 When on Multi don't get greedy, focus on two balls on different cycles and keep them for as long as you can
8 Screens after 16 require a lot of threading through gaps. Catch comes in very useful the longer the game goes on. The Bomb option makes the ball harder to see to be careful when you have to use precision.
9 The Wrap option is again a hinderance so take it knowing that you have little margin for error in the corners.
10 Always go for Multi and Long if you can get it.

I scored 577,265 playing it on my commute. I played the same game for about 2 weeks. Once you get through all the levels twice it seems to get easier, it never gets back to the fast mode of the second time through the levels.

No Way! That's lame! -
01-12-2006, 08:09 PM
Well, I have yet to lap the game 2 times although I've come close to it a few times.. but when the day comes, that's going to be disappointing. Then it really will just become a race to see who gets the most lives.
Got a REAL screen shot, unlike the ones previously posted?

Only just started playing but getting good -
01-19-2006, 06:07 AM
I really hated the Brickbreacker game - but when I saw the posts about top scores I wondered how good I could get.
Well using a 7100x on 4.0
With around 50 attempts in total - I have reached a top score of * 7635 *
8000 mark isnt far away and I am sure 9000 is possible.

I agree with flyingwarner on his tips. I have a 7250 v. 4.0 and have a high score of 12,380. Certainly level 16 (the dreaded U) is my nemisis. I have broken 10,000 about 5 or 6 times, and the key has always been getting the Catch. I'm wondering what paddle settings other BB players find to be the most useful and if you change settings based on level?

I'm on version 4.0. I finished the 34th level today for the first time. The game started over again, each level appearing exactly the same but with the bricks dropping down a lot earlier. Still pretty easy going until Level 16 comes up again. That's where I died. Final score of 24,125. I'm just glad it's over--I hated the game but had to finish it.
