Default Yahoo vs. GMail?

I have a Yahoo account. I do pay $25 annually for Yahoo plus. However, it appears as though I can forward emails from my corporate email adress to yahoo and recognize yahoo's spam filtering and then forward to my 7230? I have read alot of threads where everyone is wanting to do this with Gmail as well. Do both work basically the same?

I am a total newbie. Just ordered my 7230. So I am doing my research before it arrives....
thanks

Gmail let you forward or forward a copy for free. With Yahoo.. I think you have to forward everything (means you don't keep a copy in the yahoo web inbox).

PM me if you want a gmail account.. I have plenty of invites left..

Actually, everyone with a GMail account, as of this morning, now has 50 invites (and a new invite system). They are about to open it up to the public here soon, as well.
