You require BES 4.0 and Handheld 4.0 to be able to use picture attachments.

I am on a BES 4.0 server with the VZW 7250 running 4.0, and I just sent myself a photo to test it and it would not open it. Any ideas?

I have never been told it would require BES. Only thing I was told was that it needed the 4.0 software update.

TMO may allow it with BWC 4.0, but they have not moved to that yet, to my knowledge. You may want to contact TMO to find out more details as to why you cannot open JPG attachments.

As for BES4.0 and OS4.0 and JPG attachments, they work fine to my handheld. Brad, you may want to contact your BES Admin (unless thats yourself) and have them make sure they have JPG files enabled for the BES Attachment Service (which is also a requirement for it to work).

On a BES Server valid JPG images can have the extention JPG not JPEG

This seems to make all the difference.

I needed to manually add the file types on our BES 4.0 as well.
They where simply missing after the install.
After that it works great.

Talked to both Tmobile and RIM. They said .jpg will not work with web client yet both said they should work with BES. They are working on a upgrade for the web client to fix this issue.

@ckbook28: Is T-Mobile now supporting 4.0 in the US?
In Germany they still don't. Rumours say mid of Feb.

I still have never seen anything in writing on what "BWC 4.0" is going to have in it, much les a rollout schedule.

Hi

I spoke to TMobile about loading 4.0 on my 7230 and they told me it would not be a problem, even though it wasn't out for the 7230, since it was an operating system. So I did. I've had no problems at all and really like it.

also one thing to mention is that jpg's do not work on black white models they only work with color ones.
