Default SunCom BlackBerry support in Puerto Rico

Please Login to Remove!

Amazing support, the TSD (Technical Service Desk) solved my problem in minutes. Their English was great and customer service unparrallel.

I am not sure what SunCom does from BlackBerry training, but other carriers in North America should take note.

Signed,

Happy BlackBerry user in the sun!!

How is your phone coverage in PR? I understand Cingular is king in PR (in that regard at least).

FWIW we took over AT&T in PR (which is interesting b/c a long time ago it was SunCom down there (a different one, though), then AT&T took them over and then we took AT&T over so now they are SunCom again lol)

There were a number of markets where Cingular either did not or could not purchase AT&T. North Carolina and Puerto Rico are examples (we took over in these markets).
also there was Connecticut (Litchfield), Kentucky (Fulton), Oklahoma (Oklahoma City and Ponca City), and Texas (Lufkin/Nacogdoches) where other companies took over.

If you mean native coverage, the answer is, unfortunately, no. If you use a T-Mobile device in Puerto Rico you will be charged international roaming rates.

So in order to use a T-Mobile blackberry in Puerto Rico (for data only - we don't give users phone service) you must have international permissions on the device and pay the per kb data charge. I could not find this info on T-Mobile's web site -- Thanks!!!

That is not correct.

Puerto Rico is considered domestic roaming for both voice and data, thus no charges for usage in PR for T-Mobile USA customers.
