Default Blackberry data access

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I am new to Blackberrys. I was hoping to deploy a bunch of them to sales reps to give access to our price list of products, customer lists, etc. What I was wanting to do is email the price list to the sales reps once a week. Then let them save the price list on the Blackberry and then be able to access this info anytime, even if there was not wireless access at the time. I was thinking that the information in a Excel spreadsheet would be fine, but some database format would also work. I will be using the 8700c unit.

After playing with a Blackberry for a few days, I really do not see a good way to do this with the built-in applications. Is there a way to do this, using the built in applications, or add on programs. I do need to data updates to be totally via email, and not to rely on a connection to a PC.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

You can send an Excel sheet as an attachment and they should be able to view it and save it. You can also send it in th ebody of the e-mail depending the size of the spreadsheet as text. It can be cut and pasted as a memo by the user and brought up with the touch of a key.

If your users are on a BES

-> look into the MDS application, it was created just for that : looking up databases
