If you just installed a new version of BlackBerryOS, you may want to be noted about this -- when installing BlackBerryOS, make sure you wait 20 minutes during the first powerup. Do not remove the battery during this time period.

If that does not work, you should definitely follow NJBlackBerry's link -- reinstalling the BlackBerryOS should do the trick.

I have the same problem, but I have had the unit for a week. I just purchased it a week ago with 4.0 on it.

Have been in love with it until this morning. For the past week the battery have performed normally. Last night I put it on the charger (it was about 65%) and this morning I unplugged it and fire it up.

Nothing!

Pressed the power plug again........nothing!

Did it again..........THIS CAN"T BE HAPPENING! I LOVE THIS THING!

So I plug back into the charger and the hourglass starts WHEW! maybe just a glich. Right?

NOPE. The system booted up and said that my battery was 0%. So I take it to the store for warrenty service and they put in a fresh battery in my unit out of another BB. SAME THING! 0% on the Battery status and a red battery icon on the ribbon.

THIS IS TERRIBLE!

Now I have to wait until probably next Tuesday to get a replacement.

Anybody had this problem?

I am seriously considering buying another unit to keep as a standby so that I am not HELPLESS in life during the time it might be gone out on repairs. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

Default 2nd BB?

I was answering a post about a problem I have (or had) with my new BB. It went like this:

I have the same problem of the hourglass coming on. Problem is it is all it does now! I have had this unit for only about a week.

Have been in love with it until this morning. For the past week the battery have performed normally. Last night I put it on the charger (it was about 65%) and this morning I unplugged it and fire it up.

Nothing!

Pressed the power plug again........nothing!

Well for $149 an unit, $100 deductable and $50 a battery, it just doens't make sence not to get another one. So I did. Anyone else see the logic here?
