Can anyone please confirm for me if Verizon blocks ports on outgoing internet connections.

I've tried connecting to a server on my network and I don't see any incomming connections unless I use port 80 (which I really don't want to do - I'm trying to use port 8090).

Anyone got any ideas?

I do believe this is correct. Connecctions to non-standard ports are blocked. I had a similiar experience at work recently (simple web page on port 4111). This was the exact explanation that I was given.

is port 8080 open, does anyone know?
