Exclamation will a blackberry work without service???

Please Login to Remove!

I want to know if I can just put my sim card in a blackberry and use it as a cell phone and a PDA without using the blackberry service???

Assuming that the device is unlocked (or provisioned for your carrier), you can use it as a phone and PDA without a Blackberry data plan.

Unless it is a Sprint iDEN device, then you will have the BlackBerry data plan automatically added to your bill.
