Default 7520

Please Login to Remove!

I am a Mike client under the umbrella of Telus. I am considering to purchase a Blackberry unit. When I check on Nextel's site they have the 7520 available and Telus only has the previous model. I like the additional features of the 7520 and am willing to wait for it. However, is there anything stopping me from buying the 7520 from Nextel with no activation and using my current sim chip from my Telus phone? I am sure that I would still have to add the data plan to my account.

Your replies would be much appreciated.

TIA
Paul

Default Your plan

I've read that Telus has a preapproved list of units that will work on their network, so your plan may not work. What I would do is go ahead and buy the 7510 (I have it and it is awesome,...its the perfect business communications tool). You have 30 days to return it if you want to, so if the 7520 comes out, take it back and upgrade.

Default Call Them...

Call them and tell them to get with the program. There is no reason not to have the 7520. If you want to pick up a cheap 7510 somewhere, you can. But I hope to be able to dump my phone when some programs using the GPS come out.

Speaking of which, let me connect it to my Laptop and see if I can run Microsoft Streets & Trips using the GPS on the BB 7520.
