We currently do not have any Blackberry devices but have a user who wants a basic device to check his email from the road. Since he brings his laptop with him when he travels, the desktop redirector client is not a good option and Enterprise server is cost prohibitive. Has anyone used Outlook Web Access "OWA" to send/receive email using their Blackberry? I'm wondering how the small screen handles formatting? He's looking at the Blackberry 6710.

I use the BWC to push my e-mail from Outlook Web Access. It is a setup you do in the BWC. Very simple.

I would not recommend trying to use the BB to directly access OWA.

Exchange 2000 - OWA uses frames and the BB doesn't handle frames like a browser would, so you can load up the 'navbar' or 'viewer' frame. If 'navbar' you can load up your Inbox from there (with a 7100).

This is EXTREMELY slow.

I believe Exchange 5.5's OWA loaded up just fine from past tests (with a 6710).

Best way is to configure the BWC to pull your emails from your OWA via IMAP. That works.

You get emails pulled to you at a 15 minute interval that way.

Not all Exchange administrators allow IMAP, so keep that in mind. We have IMAP disabled for user access.

jibi - that's a shame. Let's wait to confirm whether he's definitely got IMAP disabled...

If IMAP is disabled, then ouch again. What about pleading the company for a Small Business BES at least? (Will you take Visa? No? How about my Left Arm and Right Foot?)

Does anyone know how to sync the address book for outlook web access with the BB 7520
