So I just went and looked on t-mo's site, and I couldn't find it, but I SWEAR that they used to have an international unlimited data option for blackberry's. It was something like 49.95 a month, and you would use your data services exactly the same as you would here in the states (though Voice minutes would still cost roaming).

Not sure if they nixed it or what, but it's worth calling and asking about.

Hope that helps! So where are you headed?

Data is not expensive. If you do not browse the web or use IM while there, it will not be expensive at all. Voice roaming is expensive...

sweet @ the carribean... I was there last year over thanksgiving... did the whole cruise to Curacao, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Aruba and Puerto Rico... absolutely amazing, especially St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

Have fun!

Even if you are going for week, it will be lot better to add the international add-on to your national plan and that way you still have access .. also when you come back you can call back T-mo and ask them to remove that add-on and the will only charge you for the data you used.
It works perfect I have used it ..

just spoke with tmo, they said that international email was covered by the normal $19.99 per month blackberry unlimited plan, he just had to change the code to grant unlimited email overseas (i.e. blackberry network stuff OK, web browsing etc is per kb)

Up until now (3 months since I got my bb 8700, and international travel all over the world), I have not been charged one penny for any kind of data, and surf pretty furiously, and also I tether my 8700 as an EDGE modem. No extra kb charges -- nothing.

I have the $19.99 BB plan, and the $19.99 international e-mail roaming. Whether T-Mo wants to admit it or not, it seems to include ALL data, which as a matter of fact, is what Cingular promises with teir $69.99 plan (which is a combo of the 2 T-Mo $19.99 plans)

For TMO there is a $19.99 add on, the International Unlimited Plan. I have it and use it regularly. It works great.

Just got of the phone with TMO and they said surfing is additional. The US$19.99 add-on only covers emails???? hm...

That is my experience also... I use Cingular, and they don't allow you to have both discounted international roaming (voice) and unlimited international BB (data). So I have discounted voice, and pay by the drink for international data.

I travel frequently internationally (I've been to 6 countries in the last 2 months) -- most of my trips are for 1-2 weeks. I've experienced an international data charge of ~$20 for most months vs international voice of anywhere from $50 to $400 extra, depending on usage and which country. My data usage tends to be mostly email, with some minor web browsing (news checking mostly).
