i switched phones with someone and it keeps popping up as his email...any ideas on how to reset it?

If you're using BIS, you have to have your friend either (a) change his associated handheld in his profile (and you need to do the same); or (b) call his carrier and have them kill the associated BIS account- easy to do and takes about 2 seconds for tech support.

If you're using a BES, wipe the handheld and kill the enterprise association- pretty easy.

my stupid carrier doesnt know how to do it!!!!! (CINGULAR) they are very confused and my stupid friend already registed another email on his own!!!!

The account needs to be killed by the carrier. Get him to call the carrier as the device was originally associated with his account. Tech suppor should know how to do this. It's really quite straight forward.

There is no other way to resolve this problem.

i just spent another 30 minutes with tech support...cingular is full of a bunch of idiots

It's true that the carrier has to go ahead and delete the account for you. Otherwise, another account can't be associated with the PIN of the blackberry.

They need to use the Webadmin tool (that's pretty much the universal admin tool for the internet e-mail service) and either delete the account or 0 out the PIN number. Shouldn't be too bad. @_@

Does Cingular have it's own BB support like Sprint/Nextel?
