Well considering Rogers is in Canada it really doesnt apply to those in the US like you and myself here. It is unlimited with NXTL BB data plans (I personally did use one) so you dont have much to worry about, there is no cap on US data for unlimited.

What does "unlimited" mean..

having no limits in range or scope; "to start with a theory of unlimited freedom is to end up with unlimited despotism"- Philip Rahv; "the limitless reaches of outer space"
outright: without reservation or exception
inexhaustible: that cannot be entirely consumed or used up; "an inexhaustible supply of coal"

Nextel Blackberry Data Plans:

24.99 - 5MB of Web Usage
39.99 - 5MB Web and E-mail
39.99 - Promotion: Unlimited E-mail and Web with 2-year agreement
49.99 - Unlimited E-mail and Web

Unlimited e-mail and web accounts for all of your data usage, whether that be surfing the web, e-mail, or GPS applications. However, it doesn't apply to your text messages, so be careful about those unless you have added on some kind of a text messaging plan, k?

Btw, I'm happy to say that I'm one of the tech support agents that really cares about all of you. Just want to help.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

@pink, don't be so quick to say all US networks don't have a cap... Verizon was screwing ppl left and right over that a while back. However that was talking about tethering, but still a 'limited unlimited' situation. Just my 2 cents... Tmo is truly unlimited and I'm sure nextel is too, but vzw can be bastards sometimes.

If you're Ted Rogers - it means an unlimited ability to make money and shaft your "customers"

$39.99 Promotion - All you need to do is call in and request it during the promotion period, which is currently going on. It's best if you already have an agreement that goes into 2008, because then your contract is not extended.

In fairness to Rogers, they are no longer using the term "unlimited" when referring to the $60/25MB Blackberry data plan.

Sprint's unlimited plans used to cap at 1gb of transfer. Not sure if they changed anything in the last 6 or so months.

Now it's advertised as $60/mo gives you 25Mb of data. I have asked their data department many times about data rate changes and I have heard 3 things constantly.

1) You never know keep checking back

2) Rogers knows the 8700r is exclusive to them and although it is Edge enabled you can burn more data via web browsing but due to its exclusivity people will come to Rogers and Rogers knows that and will continue to reap profits on their data packages.

3) Can we forward your account information on as we have heard complaints about data overages and this can be an added example in a hopeful review of our data rates.

Either way I have been buring through their data rates on a monthly basis over the past 2 yrs and more now since I have an 8700
