Exclamation Send from address w/ multiple email accounts

Please Login to Remove!

I have 3 email addresses that I am currently using on my 8700C and when I send a message from my BB it has the reply address from my BES server and I want the option to change the reply address to my gmail address when I am sending something from that account. How do I do this?

Thanks,

Jason.

You can change your "sent from" address in the webclient. However this will apply to all messages sent from your Blackberry.

Currently there is no way to change your sent address "on-the-fly."

Hope this answered your question

THAT USED TO BE THE CASE. And maybe this is ONLY with Verizon, but I just upgraded my BlackBerry webclient on their website and now I can EASILY choose ANY of my email accounts FROM address by simply pushing the space bar in the USING field when I compose an email.

I didn't know the upgrade would give me this, but it ABSOLUTELY ROCKS!

I do know that if your with cingular, you won't be albe to change the from address.

However, I downloaded PocketDay and I set a bunch of "Reply-To" addresses. When I compose an email, I use the scroll wheel to pick which name I want to set as my "Reply-to", now I have not tested this out yet, but I am guessing it does not what the email address looks like when it gets to them. But when the click reply, it will reply back to it.

I can press my Alt key when the cursor is over the Sent From and a drop down of all addy's appears from which I can select off the default should I choose.

The 8700 OS doesn't do this? Or am I seeing a feature of BBReply I have loaded?

You guys aren't listening. You don't need BBReply at all, possibly. I would be surprised if Verizon is the only carrier offering this service. Maybe I will be surprised on this.

Matter of fact, now that I have played with it a little more tonight, I can have a signature for each reply to address. I can also have different reconciliation/delete option for each address.

For the time being, people whose carriers (Cingular, Nextel, etc) haven't upgraded to the latest BIS will have to use bbreply or a similar solution.

At one point I was actually able to do this with my 7100t....

Now let me clarify..Since the elimination of the www.tmobile.com/bwc login website, it hasnt really worked for me.

My sent from address is my business addy, whereas i have a personal address i would also like to reply from...is there a way to set it....

when i register the handheld on the network it only registers my business addy...

someone offer advice please

On T-Mobile BlackBerries, or a PC after logging into your My T-Mobile account, here's what you have to do:

1) Launch "Set Up Internet Email".
2) Enter your email and password when adding a new account.
3) Add other information if you use Outlook to retrieve your mail.
4) Save the changes.

To compose mail and use an address other than your T-Mobile BlackBerry address.

1) When you get to the Sent From field, at first you will see your T-Mobile BlackBerry address.
2) Click on this and choose Change Option will give u a list of the addresses u registered on your My T-Mobile or Set Up Internet Email icons on your BlackBerry. Pick the address you want to use.
3) Compose and send your email.

Nobody will ever know you are on a BlackBerry unless u leave the signature "Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Handheld." To get rid of that signature:

1) Login to your My T-Mobile account on your pc.
2) Go to Edit on each of the accounts you set up.
3) Delete the default signature or change it to whatever u want it to say.
4) Save your changes.

OK...I've dug through your posts to see if my questions can get answer, but so far, no...

- I'm on Cingular
- I'm on a BES (which no one seems to have mentioned in all this great advice so far)
- I have 4 accts that I'd like to be able to reply from. The accts are my BES acct, a Gmail account, and two other webmail-only accts (through the website I have)

So far, I just have everything FORWARD to my BES acct so that I can get it on my BB. I'd MUCH rather set up POP on my gmail and the other two, but only if I can switch the "reply-to" on the fly.

I'm totally cool with downloading/installing BBReply if that's what it takes.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you have everything forwarded to your BES, you are going to need BBreply. If you pop your other email (other than your BES), you should be able to choose the reply-to.

Now, I'm speaking from a BIS experience here personally, but I'm almost positive my best friend with a 7105t can choose, and he's on a BES.

YMMV.

-olly

*edit* I realize i'm talking T-Mo to Cingular here, but I think it should still apply to you...

*edit again* Have you tried forwarding your email (gmail, etc) to your @cingular.blackberry.net address? That way you'd have BES on one hand, your blackberry.net on the other, and would probably have the ability to choose between the two at least, even if not all of your email addy's

Just found some more info on BBReply...

In the release notes, it says it won't work for BES...I wonder if the pop accts apply to that, as well...

All these differences between BIS and BES confuse me...

I should try to install it anyway...

Thanks for the quick reply, Olly...

Anyone else?

Cingular has not yet gotten the BIS upgrade (Who knows when it is coming) to be able to set up different reply addresses. So if you are at Cingular (or Rogers from what I understand) there is no way to set it up like the T-Mobile and Verizon users yet.

So here are two options I know of.

BBReply, I had downloaded this before but really didn't understand how to set it up. I probably missing how to do it. But everyone else has had good experiences with it, so it is a good choice (and it is free)

Now, what I use is PocketDay, It allows me to set up as many Reply-To addresses as I want. I like it alot.

Here is the one thing about them (I think BBReply is the same way - correct me if I am wrong) when you send out an email it will show your blackberry address, which I don't like that much but beggers can't be choosers. However, when someone chooses to reply back to you, it will make them reply to the address of your choosing. So it won't change the "From" field, the From field will have your BB address, but just what they reply back to.

Here's the scoop so far...

Just installed BBReply, and so far, everything seems to be working cool. As Erica indicated, your FROM address is whatever it's set to on your Blackberry E-mail activation. However, hitting reply will cause the reply-to to be whatever you want it to be.

Ideally, I'd rather it change the "from" also, but perhaps one day...

Oh, and a reminder that I'm on a BES...seems to be working just fine, in spite of the release notes suggesting otherwise...hmmm...

Thanks to all!
