Cause 1
The Web Client [CMIME] service book is corrupt or missing from the BlackBerry device.
Resolution
Delete the service book and resend it.
Note: The steps for opening the Service Book screen differ depending on the device software and theme you are running on your device.
- On the Home screen, click Options or click Settings, then Options.
- From the Options screen, click Service Book or click Advanced Options, then Service Book.
- If the Web Client [CMIME] service book is listed, click it and select Delete.
- Click the trackwheel and select Close.
- Log in to your BlackBerry Internet Service™ account.
- On the toolbar, click Profile.
- Under BlackBerry Internet Service service book, click Resend Service Book.
Note: To confirm that the problem is resolved, complete the steps in the Additional Information section.

The Desktop [CMIME] service book is corrupt or missing from the BlackBerry device.
Resolution
Delete the service book and resend it by generating a new encryption key.
Note: The steps for opening the Service Book screen differ depending on the device software and theme you are running on your device.
- On the Home screen, click Options or click Settings, then Options.
- From the Options screen, click Service Book or click Advanced Options, then Service Book.
- If the Desktop [CMIME] service book is listed, click it and select Delete.
- Click the trackwheel and select Close.
- Connect the device to the personal computer.
- Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click Redirector Settings.
- Click the Security tab.
- Select the Generate keys manually option.
- Click Generate. Move the mouse randomly to generate the new key.
- Click OK.

Additional Information
To confirm that the problem is resolved, complete the following steps:
- From your desktop email client (e.g., Microsoft® Outlook®, IBM® Lotus Notes®), send a test message to the device.
- After you receive the message on the device, use the Reply option to send a test reply.
- Send a second test message to the device.
- After you receive the second message, use the Forward option to forward the message.
