Default How long does it take to wear out your wheel! :)

Please Login to Remove!

I was just curious. I am a complete addict to my Telus 7130e, and my previous Telus Mike 7520. On my 7130 it has taken my 3-1/2 months for my scroll wheel to stop clicking! I was curious about how many other people have actually worn them out, and how long it took em!

Cheers!

I am not sure how long my friend's 7105t scroll wheel took to stop working (didn't sound like very long from what he told me; I think maybe a few weeks which turned out to be a major flaw in the BB anyway. This is after his first 7105t was replaced after discovering an issue with the screen), and he got a replacement after a conference call with tmobile and RIM. He's now on his THIRD 7105t since they came out.

Maybe I just need to start a Crackberry Anonymous!

I have messenger with about 20-30 contacts, MSN/ICQ/Jabber/Google Talk running through the Google Talk system, 3 personal addresses, and my Work BES. It rarely goes 10 minutes with out blowing up.

11 months and still going strong but I am like Stinsoddog, I use every and any shortcut available so as to use the wheel as little as possible. Look for a post from Use my signature to go to Stinsonddogs shortcuts and tips page.

I haven't worn out a wheel yet.

The wheel gives out in a fraction of a second if you happen to drop the thing just right.

if you listen very very carefully you can hear it click, well as long as no one drops a pin. I think mine stoped after about 30 hours of spider solitare.

Shortcuts..shortcuts.I love auto text, makes typing a breeze. Messages or phrases I type fairly frequently are set up through auto text. Three months and still feels like new. Tight keys and trackwheel is fine. (Says silent prayer)

YMMV. I have an old 7290 that I got when Cingular first released them (as in, it didn't come in an orange box and it has never been locked). It has seen heavy use and the wheel still works fine. My 8700c is from when Cingular first released it (funny trend there) and the wheel's definitely not as clicky.

i am more worried about the push button on the wheel wearing out..

For those who have done plastic case-swapping, is there any (easy) way to either adjust or replace the thumbwheel's spring?

I bought the 7100g when Cingular first got it and wore out the trackwheel in a couple of months. Replacement was fine until I sold it.
My 7250 is 6 months old and going strong.
