Default Setting the 'from' field possible?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

Now, I may be getting a BB soon. Using BIS services, not BES. Now, is it possible to have some kind of system where my 'reply to' is different, and I can select that in each email? I'd like to use my BB for school and personal, and school related need to be 'reply to' my University account, while personal is my personal account.

so, is this possible?

Thanks!

bbReply does NOT change the from field; it changes the "reply to" field. Nor does Pocket Day. Only BIS 2.0 does that. The "from" and "reply to" are different fields. See my gmail/yahoo page at my tips site for more info.

Stinsonddog: bbReply is what I'm looking for, I'm just looking to chance the reply to field, not the from field as indicated in my first post.

Thanks

You don't need bbReply. The new BIS 2.0 does exactly what you need. Verizon and a few other providers have upgraded. I don't think Cingular is there yet.

Why when I went online and upgraded to 2.0 did it put new icons on my blackberry screen for each mail account?

Part of the new BIS and OS 4.1 - you can hide them since all messages are linked in the main messages icon inbox.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I have an 8700 with T-Mobile and I have three accounts sent to it. You can accept the default or change the From address for each messaage.

The title of your post mentioned the "from" field, while the text mentioned the "reply to" field. Hence the clarification.

I might be missing something, but how do I change the reply-to with BBReply? I downloaded it and set up BBreply with three different accounts:

1. Work [email address]
2. Gmail [email address]
3. Phone [email address]

So how do I now use these in my reply-to? I don't understand how to do it.

Default BIS 2.0, Pop Accts and From field

Question on the new BIS. For those Pop accounts set up in the BIS for polling, when mail is sent using the BB on one, is it actually sent using that ISP, or is it actuilly sent from the RIM network and the From address merely Spoofed? What do the headers indicate.

Thanks for your Help.

Do the headers actually expose your BB email address, or just indicate the RIM network as the originating ISP?

Thanks for your Help.

When you hit "reply" to an e-mail, open up the track wheel menu...you should see a menu item "Set Reply-To".

That's how you pick one of your other addresses.

No it does not have your BB email address. The headers only show the RIM BIS servers and message ID

Thanks for the info. At least that's good, about the only good thing about the new BIS I can see.

Thanks again for your Help.
