Default MY SMS works on Nextel 7520.....FULL sms is working Now..

Please Login to Remove!

I just had my 7520 activated and im not sure what i did but i just sent myself 3 text messages from my tmobile phone and i get it as a message on my 7520 and it shows me the telephone number of my tmobile and when i reply my tmobile phone gets it with my nextel number as well basically as a normal sms message would look...

' The only thing i did recently that i can think of was that i resent the Hosting Tablet because my BB Browser disappeared when i updated to 4.1OS and i read this was the best way to get the BB Browser icon to reappear and it did do that but also now my sms works normally i have never been able to even get sms before on my 7520 to see if i had any sms iwould normally take the sim and put it on my 736i and then they would all pop up...has anyone else had this happpen ?

NOw i never activated MMS on my phone...but what could have happened is that they are MMS messages but then again i never activated MMS on my phonel....dont you have to have MMS activated on the phone for the MMS function to work....? Also i Iniated from my tmobile and sent a normal sms message to my 7520 and it appears like a normal sms doesnt it suppose to show up as a regular text on my 7520 (while not showing me who its from?)

That's interesting. I have always been able to receive text messages on my 7520 even when I had os4.0. I have been always unable to send text messages. I have noticed that there is a new feature to send mms. I tried but iever goes through. This is the only reason why I dislike the bb is the fact that it is difficult to connect to normal cell phones. BB is suppose to be the king of the crop.

Go to Options then >> advanced options >> hosting routing table >> hit wheel and click on register now...it automatically made this fulder called MMS appear in my messages folder and pops out when i hit on a persons name in the adress book it basically gives u the update with the mms capabilites thats all i did and its been working fine...but i had to shut it off cause id ont have an mms plan and there like 25 cents per mms considering i dont have a camera on the bb its not really worth it and right now the only plan they have is 50MMS for 5 dollars...which is fine for mms prices but i would like to use it for simple sms but that way its too expensive but if u need to use it its available check it out...also it did return my BB browser Icon which disappeared when i upgraded to 4.1OS

big red x

and nextel still lying through their teeth... telling me that mms is working sporadically for everyone... you'd think at least one of the 100 mms i've tried to send would have gone through if that were true. plus now i can't even recieve texts anymore. between this and the almost useless DC these days i can't run away from this company fast enough

Default Mms

When the option became available I couldn't get it to work either. Then I called them and they said that all Nextel Blackberry's won't have MMS unless the user calls to activate. I did and mine has worked since early April.

Default my sms is working

So the short of it is that I need to call nextel. Right? Is this going to cost a fortune? I would like to be able to send pictures, too. We'll give it a try.

good luck with calling them.. i've called them 5 times and every time they say there's nothign they can add or remove from my account that is goign to get mms working... CS lies all the time in every company. time warner (that i work for) tells people they are sending them a stronger signal to fix their box, or that the box is telling them that it is broken.. etc. CS's job is to get you off the line as fast as possible for any company.

What there saying now is that I can't use sms or mms on any blackberry phone well I'm lucky enough to have mms working in my phone for nothing because there's no way I'm gonna pay .25 cents a message specially since I wanna use it for sms..

What really ticks me off is I still can't get any sms in over a month from there so called outage yet they do nothing to compensate not only that instead they made the unlimited mms plan unavailable for everyone except BB users
