Default Question re: forwarding/replying

Please Login to Remove!

This is probably a no brainer question for the rest of you BB experts....

Is it possible to reply/forward an email that is no longer on the server?

I archive old email on my BB for future reference, but on a daily basis I fire up the PC and download email.

On a couple of occasions I have tried to forward and old email, but it failed.

I thought I would be forwarding the message as I see it in the unit, but is it actually trying to forward/reply on the server?

Sorry, but some of this BB stuff is still new to me...but I'm getting a clue.

Thanks

If you're on BIS 2.0 and getting an 'unlisted message error' it's because BIS is trying to reference the original message on the originating mail server and failing. I'm not sure if this would be affected in older BIS.

Try to forward using another address. Scroll up to the top of the message where is says 'Send Using' and select a different account. This may force it to look on the handheld to forward it.

This is not really the best idea. BlackBerrys have a very limited amount of space and delete messages automatically after a certain amount of time. Even if you disable this, and set it to delete never, once the BlackBerry runs out of space it will automatically delete the oldest messages without asking.
