one good browser you can upload is the WebViewer.. you can check it out at www.handango.com.. pin me if you are interested to purchase.. I have one that I am not using (I used to own 7520 from nextel)

as for the sms.. yeah I feel ya.. you would have no way of knowing of who messaged you unless they type their name at the end of each message (which we normally don't)

PIN: 2040d116

bigmattfromjersey 04-25-2006 05:10 PM

Does your 7520 show NXTL (all caps) on the top?

bigmattfromjersey 04-25-2006 06:43 PM

yea sorry my bad

EricaJ1074 04-25-2006 06:48 PM

I was trying to help someone else earlier who asked the same question. You cannot get email without having a BlackBerry Data Plan.

bigmattfromjersey 04-25-2006 06:51 PM

there is no way to do like a pop or something like da i930. and why doesnt it tell me who sent a sms message. also how do u send a sms message

southwestcomm 04-25-2006 09:52 PM

No data plan = no Email.
No data plan = no BIS Browser.
Data pan @$39.99 = Email and Browser.
Can't afford it don't get a BB till you can.

blackberry_aid 04-26-2006 12:54 AM

Unfortunately, the current software doesn't let you see who sends you SMS messages. The reason? Got us all stumped. We all thought that it would be a feature we would see with the 7100i, but nope. Hopefully it will be straightened up in future updates.

This is both mocking and insulting.

If a forum member posted this, I'm sure one of you Mods would have come down on the person like a ton of bricks.

So is this sort of post allowed simply because you are Mods? (n)

roofus 04-26-2006 07:42 AM

When people from Jersey are "communicating" we should all just stand back a safe distance!

Sorry you don't see the sarcasm in this. Boo hoo for you.
Did you read the original posts.

Yes, it is mocking. Mocking the horrible use of the English Language.

KOR 04-26-2006 08:24 AM

NJBB,

Thanks for stating my day off with a smile, yo!

NJBlackBerry 04-26-2006 08:26 AM

if that is the wrong one hit me on da pin it is in da sig.

madmarvcr 04-26-2006 10:57 AM

if no bb data plan and your BB shows "NXTL" at upper right, there are 3 apps that work for email

www.mmail.pl ($5 onetime) this is a pop3 client (bare bones no polling)
www.imobilemail.com ($23/year) a blackberry pop3 client, can run in background and poll your pop3 account.
www.shapeservices.com ($20 onetime) Gmail for Blackberries, runs in background and can poll your gmail account.

I use Gmail for Blackberries. All my mail is now forwarded to the Gmail account.

For web browsing I use Opera Mini. Minuet works too, but slow compared to Opera Mini

Chinasaur 04-26-2006 11:39 AM

I sent your post to guess for his review.

You defend your childish behaviour and then attack me ("boo hoo" comment) to hide the fact you are insulting and mocking....regardless of reason.

You also don't even address your "iq's are dropping comment.

Mods "should" have a higher standard of behaviour. Your behaviour is very unprofessional.

You are acting like a child. (n)

NJBlackBerry 04-26-2006 11:47 AM

I'm sorry you feel this way. Can't say it truly bothers me.

I will stay out of threads like this one in the future.

Clearly humor and sarcasm doesn't belong in your threads.

This thread sounds like one in HoFo, which is one reason I don't go there anymore.

udontknowjack 04-26-2006 12:15 PM

YO, NJ, you made me crack up. I love it. People need to lighten up. If someone isn't going to use proper punctuation and english the deserve to be mocked. This is a forum not an IM program or chat room. People should type in correct sentences using regular english. This tolerance thing has gone way to far. Thanks again NJ for making my day. I needed the chuckle.

juwaack68 04-26-2006 12:22 PM

You rock, NJ. Keep up the humor!!

And did anyone notice that the original poster is NOT the one doing the complaining?

I never complain. And props to who posted the links for email. I will check them when I get home. I am on my bb now.
props to madmarvcr

KOR 04-26-2006 01:48 PM

Hey chinasaur,

How much did you pay to register to use the site?

Oh, that's right - nothing.

Until you pony up some cash, stop complaining about the conduct of others in threads you didn't start. bigmatt isn't taking issue with the posts, so why get YOUR undies in a bunch...

Hello all, I am the newest member of this board and just signed up. I spent quite some time reading up on some posts and have a very specific question. I dont seem to have found answers for it in the posts and I did search.

I have a corp Nextel BB 7520 with unlmtd web/email plan but no SMS. Is it possible to buy a BOOST mobile sim card and use it on the Nextel BB to send/rec SMS? I have NXTL in all caps for my signal. Thanks

If you wish to SMS, you should send an e-mail to the person's 10 digit telpehone number, followed with the domain teleflip.com. The recipient will receive an SMS, and they can reply to you.

ex.: [email address]

Thanks for the fast reply, and I am going to try teleflip's. Any ideas on the Boost mobile question for international SMS? I forgot to mention that in the original post. Got family going to the Far East and would like to SMS them.
Thanks

I don't believe it will work. My suggestion to you is to get a T-Mobile pre-paid phone and use it strictly for int'l SMS.

However, if they take their US phones with them, then you just continue to use the teleflip system.

strobate 05-09-2006 09:00 PM

There will be no email with a Boost SIM.

You can add MMS to a 7520 or 7100 (for SMS) with 4.1.
