Default Image attachments working on BWC!

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new poster but longtime lurker. Just wanted to jump in and say that I can now view .jpg attachments (and save them too!) over the built in mail client on the 7100t using BWC.

I recently upgraded to 4.0 on the handheld. I'm on T-Mo in the Cincinnati area (don't know if that makes any difference, but I read somewhere that part of the limitation was T-Mo's implementation of the latest BWC software).

Also, I recently installed Verichat and EmailViewer from Reqwireless, but I think I'll ditch viewer now since the built-in client can do more with attachemnts than the REq viewer (personally I think it's easier to use, too). However, after just two days on Verichat, I'm hooked.

That being said, can I uninstall the IM client builtin on the 7100? I know how to hide the menu option, but I'd like to free up space.

Finally, someone needs to develop an app that allows the handheld to act like flash memory over USB. (I know, small bit of space for Flash, but at least I'd be able to dump the jpg and pdf attachments onto my desktop easily). I think I'd be willing to pay around 50 bucks for that kind of functionality.

Jeff

Default great!

I just tried it with my 7750 (4.0) and it worked. Awesome! Does that mean Telus upgraded the webclient?

I'm on AT&T, and got the registration message this morning.
Now, you can open photos, zoom in or out, and save them.
Also, I noticed that there is a "More All" option added to the mail menu.

yes.

Bell has also upgraded their webclient to 4.0, so now you can retrieve jpg files from emails!

It seems that most of the cellular companies have upgraded this week. What about Cingular?

Works for me too on Rogers! I am on BES, but I also tested it through the BWC email address and it works from there too!

Even TIFF faxes work too! You just have to use the Zoom feature then download the high-resolution zoom:
1. Zoom into area of interest
2. Select "Enlarge Area" to download the high resolution zoom.

Additionally, this creative feature makes it possible to browse a 20 megabyte image on a 16 megabyte BlackBerry, and still get full resolution access to portions of the image! Same way you are able to store 1000 emails in a 1 gigabyte Hosted BES account, and you'd be able to view all of them on your 16 megabyte BlackBerry, because the images are all server-side based, downloaded only when you view the attachment. So even 1 megabyte images download quickly (downconverted to BlackBerry screen), and then you zoom into the area of interest, then you download the high resolution zoom. Nice workaround for low bandwidth networks for GPRS!

Question: Are CDMA users now able to run Verichat under BlackBerryOS 4.0? I wonder if this is a new feature of BWC 4.0 to provide a TCP/IP stack to CDMA users, particularly the 7250 for non-BES users?

Hey Mark-

Any idea how to get passed page 1 of the fax in multipage faxes?

Good question! Hmmm. Have not tried other than multiple TIFF attachments (1 page per file).

I hope RIM has found a solution for multipage TIFF files, I haven't tried that!

I'm on T-Mobile in Albuquerque using a 7100t with 4.0 OS, non BES. When I attempt to open a .jpg attachment a small icon appears in the upper right hand corner but nothing else appears. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Marshall

Never mind on my deal. I just deleted the Web Client Service book and had them send another. Now I can view the .jpg attachment.
