I am a new user, and have loaded Desktop Software ver 4.1 onto my laptop.

I have successfully synced the contacts and calendar.via the USB cable, using Intellisync.

However the "Reconcile Email" button is greyed out, under the Synchronise now options

If I have read all items in the forums and Blackberry support (bit vague!) the
option to have emails that have been deleted on the handheld, deleted in the inbox of outlook is not available, unless you use BES, correct or not?

Will the option always be greyed out unless you choose the BES option half way thru install procedure?, and obviously have a BES ?

The 02 XDA my client had b 4 could sync emails, but the backberry cannot without expensive enterprise software and hardware, is this correct ?

A straight forward answer to this would be appreciated

Only BES and redirector will allow you to do this. Redirector is only support in an Exchange Server environment.

the wireless reconciliation options for BIS vary depending on what version of BIS your carrier offers - 1.8 or 2.0. With 1.8 the emails reconcile back to the BIS inbox for deleted email only - not read/unread status. With 2.0 wireless reconcile works for deleted email and read/unread status for your integrated accont IF it is IMAP or Exchange - POP will not reconcile (IMAP will reconcile to the web site but should also reconcile to your Outlook)

So to get this right:-

I am using Freezone pop3 email, and mail sent to that address is forwarded to the Blackberry and to the Laptop, I have asked for a copy of the email to be kept on the Freezone mail server for 14 days.

Therefore any email messages deleted on the Blackberry cannot be synched/deleted from the laptop, because I am using BIS, and a POP3 account.

The only information that Intellisync can sync is Appointments, and Contacts.

This is most dissapointing, potential purchasers in a small business environment, should have this pointed out, as it means the end user having to delete items twice.
