I was silly I know and breifly put my BB address on my profile. Well now I am getting a lot of spam. So far about 50 emails just today!

I changed my tag line of course but spambots have apparently scanned this forum already.

Any ideas how long this may go on? and what I could do?

You would need to log in to your BIS server and set up filters there. it is pretty self explanitory

You could try to run your mail through GMAIL.
I have my ISP direct my mail into GMAIL, the direct my mail to my Blackberry from there.
GMAIL has about the best spam filters I've seen, and I have a backup for my email that is easier to search than Outlook.

Another idea is to contact your SP and ask them to assist you in changing your email address.

The best bet is what Corey said, call SP and change email address

grin! I wouldnt do that. But I may chg my BB email addy if it doesnt slow down. It has slowed a lot already. if I get a new slew tomorrow I shall call Nextel and alter my addy. The log in page is easy to use but I need all the domains I deleted to add filters. None are ever the same domain. Probably best I chg the email addy name a bit. Thanks all. I learned something here I guess. All spam bot owners should die slowly and painfully!

Damn Cat that blows. I guess it's only a matter of time before we start getting viruses on our Berries too. I wonder if anyone is developing any anti-virus software?

Not sure if this will help but...i was getting SPAM to my BIS account - however it wasn't actually sent to the address (different address in the To field)
Not sure how it was getting delivered - but it doesn't matter
All i did was set the main filter to "do not forward"to the handheld and set up a filter stating "if any of the following apply...from = my BIS addres then forward to handheld"
i also added my integrated accounts to the same filter

Now i get no SPAM I also don't get the mailing lists i'm signed up for but i'm not worried since they all contain attachments i don't want to bother opening on my handheld

The spam has slowed down tremendously but I may do just what you said! Thks.
